The 2010 Adageo Energy Pro Cycling Los Angeles Training Camp
Lake Mead, Nev. – The Adageo Energy Pro Cycling Team wrapped up its training camp Wednesday in Nevada with a clinical hypnotic session to mentally prepare the team’s 12 riders for their season-opening race.

The first-year, UCI continental team spent four days in Lake Mead, putting its Leopard Cycles DC1 bikes to the test training in and around the largest reservoir in the United States while being briefed daily about sponsors and new equipment. During the entire camp, the squad’s riders and staff lived on Forever Resorts houseboats at the Callville Bay Resort & Marina.

Training camp culminated with a presentation by Adageo Energy Team Director Josh Horowitz, co-creator of “The Ultimate Cyclist” CD. Horowitz’s mental coaching has helped athletes win more than 40 national and world championship titles, including a podium finish at the Tour de France and three victories at the Amgen Tour of California.

Mental training is every bit as important as physical training, Horowitz said.

“Most people focus on physical training and bike technology to make themselves a better rider, but you will never become stronger than your mind believes is possible,” he said. “The mind is more powerful than most of us can comprehend. So strengthening it is just as important as putting in time in the saddle.”

Clinical hypnotism was approved by the American Medical Association in 1958 and by the American Psychological Association in 1960. Horowitz’s session to the team’s riders and staff members utilized their subconscious minds to receive positive thoughts that included mental imagery and affirmations to instill focus and confidence in his riders for this weekend’s race and the entire season.

Cycling Weekend

Lincoln, NE -- The record turnout of riders this past weekend was matched only by near record high temps and wind gusts at the Flatwater Cycling Weekend presented by Bike Pedalers. Challenging race conditions, but nothing Tim Farnham and Matt Landen had not experienced before. Although they reside in California now as members of Adageo Energy Pro Cycling Team, the two cut their teeth in the Midwest racing circuit.

"We want this to be the premiere race weekend in Nebraska and we feel like we took a step in the right direction," said Race Director and co-owner of Bike Peddlers, Sean Craig.

In Saturday's Capital City Criterium, Matt Landen looked to move clear of the field, which let him roll off the front for the first three laps before reeling him in.

"It was kind of strange. I kept looking back, but no one was coming across," said Landen.

Shortly after the field reassembled, Landen launched again and this time it would stick. Only Chris Spence (Alegant Health-Team Kaos) was able to bridge and the two remained clear of the field to the finale.

"The plan was to set-up Tim today, but once I had the gap, and Chris was working with me, I had to go," Landen explained.

In fact, the efforts by Farnham to come across were marked by the Alegant Health-Team Kaos led by Jarred Berger, who did a great job of the keeping the Men's 1/2 field together. A task that was made easier by the technical nature of the .7 mile, 8 corner course.

By the final lap, Landen and Spence had well over a minute on the field as they rolled to the line with Spence sitting up to let Landen roll across the line.

ASEA - Cleared for use by IOC and UCI

Three months ago the folks at Bicycle.net came to us with a product they were reviewing.  Test results showed a 500% increase in cellular anti-oxidant  production and a 10% increase in time to V02 max. We were skeptical but we finally broke down and tried it and, holy cow, does it work!

Today we welcome ASEA as an official team sponsor.  We've posted product reviews and study results as well as the IOC and UCI drug clearances so you can make your own decision. Heads up, it's an MLM but you can order retail without signing up.
